Walking Book Club regroup for May

by | May 3, 2021 | The Walking Book Club

As we begin the month of May, I thought it might be a good time to re-group for both new and long-standing Walking Book Club members.

Several years ago, I created The Walking Book Club as a tool to help my clients find more enjoyment in activity and exercise by engaging the mind and body by listening to captivating stories.

As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I know it can be challenging to keep our health and wellness goals a priority. (Truth be told be, there are days I wish I could pay someone to exercise for me or have a magic fairy to take care of all the daily chores. Alas, a great audiobook can help make them both easier.)

Since then, we’ve grown into a virtual international audiobook club with a Healthy-Body Happy-Mind ethos, including inspiration and friendly nudges to keep your wellness and well-being a priority. “Book Extras” for group selection are included in our Facebook Discussion Group and Instagram. (A glossary of often-used phrases like “book extras” can be found here.)

The other option is to pick an audiobook of your own choosing; you still get all the Healthy-Body Happy-Mind inspiration and friendly Health Coaching nudges.

We offer lots of free resources to help make you discover, manifest and celebrate your personal recipe for Healthy-Body Happy-Mind too. The Walking Book Club resources, including those pictured, can be found here as well as the past blogs and updates.

A free resource is also shared on Saturdays in our Discussion Group.

For May, the group selection is The Final Revival of Opal and Nev by Dawnie Walton.

Fans of Daisy Jones will want to grab this audiobook not only for the musical aspect but for the multi-narrator cast as well. Book extras are scheduled daily through the end of the month.

We’ll be meeting with Dawnie and, fingers crossed, a narrator the first week of June. Details are coming soon. (If you can’t get Opal and Nev, a great alternative is Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins-Reid.)

Here’s the schedule:

Week One: May 2nd-8th Chapters 1-7
Week Two: May 9th- 15th Chapters 8-14
Week Three: May 16th – 22nd Chapters 15- 18
Week Four: May 23rd – 29th Chapters 19 – end
Open Discussion begins 5/30

Pop by the Discussion Group to vote on June’s selection(s).

xo,

Julie
