I am one who…
“I am one who ______… I am one who ____… I am one who ____…”
There were many wonderful aspects of my doctoral experiment over the last ten months.
One of which was self-exploration during orientation.
We were asked to verbalize the above sentence repeatedly until we couldn’t think of any more descriptions that filled the blank. I was caught off guard by some of the sentiments I vocalized. What frequently arose for me was how important advocating for women and children was expressed. As a middle-aged (ok, maybe middle age plus) woman, it’s not often you get to reflect on who you are while juggling life’s colorful, chaotic balls being thrown your way.
The on-the-spot prompt and my responses clarified what makes my heart swell and what provides meaning and purpose to me. With that being realized, I hope to re-energize the Heart and Soul Book Chats, which pair authors and audiobooks with charitable causes.
I would love to hear from YOU.
